Previews and Parting Ways

Hello neglected website how have you been?

We really haven’t been on top of things as much as we should on here. There once was a time when only the website got updated, now that has become a faded past as it’s all about the faecesbooks and the twitters, SOCIAL MEDIA. Websites don’t really ever get a look in. THIS WILL STOP TODAY!

We are in a dawn of a new time, a new age, a new world. Where this website might get updated a bit more, fingers crossed.

Since the last post, a lot of things have happened. There is a lot of change in the air.

Before all that, if you are one of the people who saw us in the well advertised Leeds show, or the less- advertised –because-Dan-Got-Caught-up-in-life-Birmingham Gig, thank you. They’ve been great and confidence for most of us at the moment is through the roof. So much so that Jack has signed up to Skydiving classes this Wednesday, Dan’s signed up to teach them. Lewys is doing Lewys type things.

With the momentum at its highest we had our last event at St.Martins Coffee in the form of ‘Another Cabaret Night’, thanks to all the performer s and the people who came down, you can check the photos on our facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/DanNicholasConversationGarden

But Alas it is an end of an era, as we got kicked out of our house. And by that we mean, our tenancy came to a drastic and most horrible end, and by that we mean, it was just the end of the contract.

And we parted ways…..kind of. Jack moved in with his girlfriend (yes he has a girlfriend, sorry ladies) leaving Lewys and Dan to find themselves a flat. There wasn’t an emotional goodbye, no tears were shed. No word was said. Dans just been listening to a lot of Suede.

I’m sure a lot of you may have be wondering, ‘what happened to the mattress, and the beloved bathtub, it’s bound to be worth a lot of money some day’ …..we are not at liberty to discuss the whereabouts of these objects.

WHAT’S NEXT YOU CRY, IS IT OVER!?!?! WITH JACK GONE WHAT WOULD BE THE POINT IN CONTINUING? Well in case you haven’t heard us rave about it we’re going to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, for the full run. Are you planning on coming? Maybe you’re not sure? Perhaps you’ve been thinking of a weekend away from that annoying loved one/housemate/family member for sometime, and you need an excuse to flee the country with out any notice. FEAR NOT WE’LL BE THAT EXCUSE!!! Come see us, we love moral support, also bring food. We’re on everyday at the George Next Door (apart from Tuesdays) at 1.20pm

BUT BEFORE THAT WE’RE DOING ANOTHER SHOW IN LEICESTER! (ohnoreally?youguysareonallthetimegettingalittlesickofyounow) YA RLY! Upstairs at the Western on the 19th of July at the more reasonable time of 8pm get tickets here http://upstairsatthewestern.com/event/dan-nicholas-conversation-garden-so-far/ as Dan is beginning to panic that we have too much of a student audience, and all the students will have left = no audience PROVE HIM WRONG AND COME ALONG. If you’ve seen the show in Handmade Festival, then you’ll know it’s good, and there’s even some extra new bits added in! If you haven’t seen the show in Handmade Festival then rest assured it’s very good. Better that we could have imagined (and that’s basing it on two previews – arguably all the amount of previews you need, right? RIGHT?)

Another post Updating you on our whereabouts

And what fun we had, two people had asthma attacks, and one person threw up. (people were encouraged to run, they didn’t have to we’re not liable for anything) our events are DANGEROUS (they’re not really, they’re what you make of it).

You can see a post-show interview here

And then we went quiet as we’ve got nothing on for a while till the end of  June, in the mean time we’ve been refining the show to make it the perfect. Thus so far through a series of meetings, Dan has is on the third draft of the introduction.

We are announcing shows in the Autumn soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

It’s all very exciting. We have regular updates happening on our facebook and twitter page (@DNConvoGarden)

Cabaret Night!!

Hello!cabaret night

It’s been a while, so much has happened. Lots of news. We have changed, you have changed, everyone has changed. We are know longer the people we were. But that sounds all very serious. Speed Dating was a great success, and hopefully some people have managed to find the loove of their life, or at the very least a shag.

But unfortunately upon arriving back at the house the team had found their laptops to have been stolen. Hence the lack of updates for a while. Lewys had his mac cruelly taken from him, but he has insurience so he should be fine. And Dan had his laptop and half of his laptop cable stolen. Fortunately his Dad was looking for an excuse to get a new laptop anyway, so Dan now has his old one. Which quote unquote is ‘better and more powerful than your one anyway’. So that’s that.

Jack is fine, as his laptop wasn’t at home. Bastard.

What else has happened?!?! Lots Jacks been lost down a well, and the guys haven’t been able to watch porn for nearly two weeks, as well as having their music choice limited to the phones and radio now that the option of spotify has gone. The heroes have had to undergo NLL (No Laptop Living) and have struggled/found it refreshing.

We’re also back on the 18th of April at St.Martins Coffee with a Caberat night, featuring a band, burlesque, stand up comedy as well as us hosting and being silly. It’s on Good Friday (was that a poor marketing decsion? Come and find out) and you can tickets for this and our other events here

Full line up to be announced next week! We’ve also made another advert/trailer/video for it watch here

Now could you all come again as this get steamy and lovely for DNCG Part II: Lewy’s Holt’s Banter Bathroom this friday. Which of course is Valentines Day, what better way to spend a date with your partner by watching the rise and fall of the trios friendship?

That’s 9.45pm at the Criterion

Look Lewys is busy getting ready:

He also did an interview with that guy:

Show Week 1.

And now we’re in the final hurdle of prep as this week is the start of Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival 2014. As always tension is running high/fall steam ahead etc etc.

In truth we’ve all had a bit of a holiday or it feels like, Dan and Lewys went back to their respective homes to visit Badgers/People they knew  who were leaving for Australia.  Dan spent the weekend sleeping then waking up to complain about the state of things and then too sleep again. Lewys did Lewys type things.

All the while Jack stayed in Leicester and guarded the house from the Paparazzi/ cleaned the house. This is what happened while the other two were away:

That’s not the only thing that’s hottin’ up though, as the press bandwagon is underway,  listen to Demon Fm breakfast show this friday for an a short interview with Jack, and here is a video one that has all the things that a good interview needs, bullying Yusef and washing up:

Tickets are still available for Discussion Kitchen this saturday at The Western pub or online at http://upstairsatthewestern.com/event/dan-nicholas-conversation-garden-part-i-jack-brittons-discussion-kitchen/

As well as the Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival Website http://www.comedy-festival.co.uk where you can get tickets for lots of other great shows!

Another Week

Well there is just one week left before the first show in the epic series of shows for Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival! Naturally everyone is beginning to stress and lose their mind. Dan has taken to making Enchiladas every night to the sound track of Radiohead’s Kid A album. Jack is starting to take running very seriously indeed, declaring that walking is for ‘inefficient pussys’ meaning that he only  has two speeds ‘run’ and ‘stop’. and Lewys is still doing Lewys type things.

However despite this everyone has been very busy, we’ve done more interviews with Demon Media, and have even been into the TV studio to record a special short video to be released during the comedy festival, and have set up lots of exciting plans for post-festival….stay tuned to find out more.

For now here is the latest Conversation Garden video, with another two being released next week in the run up to Jack Britton’s Discussion Kitchen:

Remember you can get tickets for all of the shows at http://comedy-festival.co.uk/ or at http://upstairsatthewestern.com/
